Corey Ewing

INDIANAPOLIS, 2024 - 2025

Corey Ewing is a native of Indianapolis, IN that pursued a love of poetry across the country on a whim. He would return home to support various poetic projects including Indianapolis Poetry Slam, Word As Bond, Fighting Words Poetry, Cosplay Poets, multiple slam teams, Cafe Creative and currently curates Vocab. He continues to teach, coach, and create as an interdisciplinary artist in Indy.

COMMUNITY PROJECT

Corey Ewing is partnering with KHEPRW Institute to develop a community-based space to address arts equity. Together, they are working to ensure that all community members have access to resources, opportunities, and platforms to showcase their talents. Their project, Alkhemy Community Wealth Building, seeks to establish a coworking space rooted in the community dedicated to fostering arts and entrepreneurship.

The Kheprw Institute (KI) focuses on youth development and community empowerment. We believe an emphasis on self-mastery through the lens of community engagement can lead to fundamental community change.Creating and providing opportunities for youth, young adults and other community members to develop self and contribute to the betterment of their community promotes community self-reliance and self-actualization. This is how we strive to create the change we want to see in our community and the world.
